Named Scholarships benefit qualifying McCort students. To establish a Named Scholarship, a commitment of a gift of $500 or more for four consecutive years is required and allows the donors to create the scholarship in their name or the name of a loved one.

With a named scholarship, your entire contribution is awarded each year to a qualified student. Without this support, some students would be financially unable to attend BMCHS.

Each fall,  Bishop McCort Catholic High School recognizes the Named Scholarship Program at a luncheon at the high school.  The luncheon provides the opportunity for our thoughtful and generous Benefactors to meet their scholarship recipient(s) and for our student scholarship awardees to meet and personally thank the individual or family for their commitment and support of their Catholic education.

Bridge ($500 per year): Bishop McCort Catholic High School families are sincerely grateful for any amount of tuition assistance. Nearly 7% of the cost of a Bishop McCort education will be covered through a Bridge scholarship.

• Ray and Nancy Rizzo Fund--The Ray and Nancy Rizzo Fund is a “donor advised fund” established through the Community Foundation for the Alleghenies.  This fund supports financially eligible students in the Lift Johnstown Scholarship Program as well as provides tuition assistance for several students through a named scholarship.  Ray and Nancy Rizzo not only believe that education is empowerment, but also that the future of Johnstown is in the promise of today’s youth.
